Portolite Peppers National 16u opened the Colorado Sparkler tournament with a 10-1 victory over Athletics Jendro Mora 16u.
The Peppers got on the board in the 1st inning after Emily Hacker hit a sac fly.
They would add another run in the 2nd after Carlie Wendinger singled.
The fifth inning brought in three more runs for the Peppers, highlighted by a two-run home run by Lydia Banse.
Five more runs would score in the 6th. Mariah Anderson doubled in a run, Wendinger added 2RBIs on a single and Banse added another RBI on a single.
Addisyn Hansen was the winning pitcher, giving up only four hits, and one run while striking out nine over six innings.
The Peppers had nine hits in the game. Wendinger, Banse and Gracie Linbo each had two hits. Madeline Beaty added two stolen bases.
