The Portolite Peppers National 16u cruised to a 10-0 win over the AP USA Explosion on Thursday in Colorado.

Kyla Stenzel earned the win for the Peppers on the mound. She allowed just two hits and zero runs over five innings. She also had nine strikeouts. Stenzel also had two hits at the plate.

Mariah Anderson pitched the final frame, striking out three batters in the inning.

Offensively, the Peppers were led by a Lydia Banse 3-run home run and Madeline Beaty's three hits in four at-bats.

In all, the Peppers had 12 hits. Carlie Wendinger doubled, scoring one run, Emily Hacker doubled, scoring two runs and Gracie Linbo singled, scoring two runs to lead a five run fifth inning.


The Peppers are now 2-0-1 in the Colorado Sparkler Tournament.
