The Portolite Peppers National 16u team went 9-0 to earn the NAFA National Championship title.
In the final game, the Peppers defeated the Hot Shots Fastpitch SD 16U 5-2 on Sunday.
Leading the way on the mound was Mariah Anderson. She was dominant, striking out 10 and allowing only five hits while walking none.
The Peppers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Emily Hacker drove in a run for the RBI.
Torii Emery anchored the middle of the lineup, leading the Peppers with 2RBIs. She finished the game 2-3.
The Peppers had six hits total. Madeline Beaty, Jayda Swalve and Carlie Wendinger had the other hits.
