Portolite Peppers National 16u were triumphant over Minnesota Elite-Prantner 16u by a score of 8-4 on Sunday.

A single by Torii Emery put the Peppers on the board in the top of the first. The Peppers would add a run in the second, then Madeline Beaty doubled, making the score 3-1.

The MN Elite tied the game in the bottom of the fifth.

But then the Peppers exploded in the eighth inning to take control of the game. They scored five runs on three hits to take an 8-3 lead.

The biggest hit in the inning was a 2RBI single by Gracie Linbo.

Mariah Anderson pitched four and 1/3 innings in relief for the Peppers. She surrendered four hits and one unearned run, while striking out three and walking one.

Kya Alderson opened the game for the Peppers, giving up seven hits and two runs over three and 2/3 innings. She struck out four and walked none.

Emery led the offense with 3 RBIs. She was 2-4 in the game. Emery, Jillian Olsen and Beaty each collected two hits for the Peppers.
