Madeline Beaty collected three hits in three at bats as the Portolite Peppers National 16u defeated SE MN Flyers 16u 7-5 on Saturday. Beaty singled in the fourth and fifth and doubled in the first inning to lead the way.

The Peppers made the score 4-2 in the bottom of the third after Lydia Banse singled in a run, as did Emily Hacker. Torii Emery drew a walk that also brought in a run.

Mariah Anderson opened the game for the Peppers on the mound. She surrendered three hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking four.

The Peppers had nine hits overall. Banse and Beaty were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup as each delivered an RBI.

Jillian Olsen collected two hits for the Peppers in three at-bats.
